Former Manchester United teenage coach Eric Harrison was awarded the honorary title of Queen Elizabeth II of the Order of the British Empire. 79-year-old Harrison received the high distinction of his overall contribution to the development of football in the country. Harrison is the man who discovers David Beckham, and is also the coach who has built the backbone of Manchester United`s most successful team, known as `Class `92`, which includes players like Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Nikki But. Harrison worked in the Manchester United school between 1981 and 1998 and a year after his retirement, the Red Devils won the first in the history of the English football treble - the Champions League, the Premier League and the England Cup.
