Darron Gibson doesn`t think Liam Delap is a good candidate for Manchester United. Tell me honestly? I don`t think Liam Delap is an improvement over Zirkzee or Heilund. They are both so young and came at a difficult time. Usually young strikers have a more experienced partner from whom they can learn and follow an example. If United had bought Harry Kane two years ago, I think Hejlund or Zirkzee would have been different players, they would have learned from him. I don`t want to take away from Delap`s quality, but I don`t think he`s better.
Rio [Ferdinand] recently spoke about the pressure at United and how the players don`t understand how difficult it is. Right now Delap is at Ipswich and there is not much pressure on him. He plays freely, but at United it`s different. They need an experienced striker.
I would make Victor Osimhen my main target. He scores goals and has more experience. "He can teach young guys, " said the ex-Manchester United midfielder.
