Lille`s leadership has decided to fire Marcello Bielsa, the senior coach of the team. The Argentine was punished a month ago by the club for poor performance and his decision to leave to be one of his best friends in his last hours. Last season, Lille finished 11th, and the club leadership hoped that with the coming of the Biels Club, the club advised by soccer rankings would aim at the Champions League area. The reality, however, turned out to be quite different and despite the arrival of a bunch of new players, the team is on the unenviable 18th in League 1.
