Jordan considered overtaking with DRS unfair. Former Formula 1 team owner Eddie Jordan spoke out strongly against the DRS system in a conversation with ex-driver David Coulthard.
Everything that is invented, artificial, everything that is introduced instead of a real, dramatic, honest and just story, in my opinion, is fake. DRS is bogus from a fundamental point of view. This is fake.
We saw a controversial race in Brazil. Let`s say Lando [Norris] leaves. Let`s say he makes a dash at the start. On the third lap he`s not quite out of second and let`s say Leclerc is close enough, gets DRS, drives up the hill and boom! - drives forward. For me this is not a struggle. This is not a fight.
It`s like fighting a boxer who at some point has one arm tied behind his back. It`s an unfair advantage, right? He doesn`t have all the capabilities to defend himself.
I`m of the opinion that if you can`t overtake fairly - we`ve all done it in your time, David - why punish a good driver by making him just give up position because of this stupid rule, because of DRS? I don`t support this. I`m really sorry. Call me old fashioned all you want, " Jordan said on the Formula For Success podcast.
